I know I am arriving a bit late to this game; I only got hand of the book after returning from from Canada, and I have been very busy these weks since then. The primary reason for particle physics is to test the soundness of the deepest laws of physics. Even eminent physicists admit the there is something fundamentally wrong with the scientific discipline of physics, as with Lee Smolin in his book with the above title. Lee Smolin, in his book “The Trouble with Physics” [Houghton Mifflin, 2006], argues against the obsession that most physicists, academic researchers, and scientific facilities have with string theory. But at this point, I have neither the time nor the brainpower to finish it off.
